About Me
I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, and my master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Planning from Ohio University. From August 2005 to May 2015, I worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington D.C. Notable projects included work on the Schools Chemical Cleanout Campaign, a voluntary program that promoted responsible chemical management in K-12 schools, and developing Voluntary Guidelines for States: Development and Implementation of a School Environmental Health Program.
At the EPA, I honed my writing skills producing guidance documents, factsheets, brochures, communication strategies, web copy, and PowerPoint presentations. I served as a Grant Project Officer, planned and conducted workshops and recognition events, and developed training modules on children’s environmental health.

So…why did this engineer and former EPA employee become a copywriter and editor?
Quite simply, I love to write! I also enjoy using my writing skills to help others, whether it’s through conveying information in an easy-to-understand format, providing outreach, telling a success story, or teaching someone something new. Words have tremendous power to inspire, educate, and persuade an audience. My job is to harness the power of words and make that power work for you.
Providing my clients with a high-quality product that exceeds their expectations is my goal, each and every time. This is what drives me as a writer and a businesswoman. As a bonus, I get to explore and write about issues I care about: the environment, sustainability, environmental education and green schoolyards, urban agriculture and local food, renewable energy, and entrepreneurs, just like me!
As a life-long learner, I welcome the opportunity to explore the topics and issues that are important to you. Contact me with your writing project needs.
